Adrián Espadas's late challenge caught a Menchu FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrián Espadas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th match minute, Soroca F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrián Espadas to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriele Batistuta in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Armani prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 45 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gabriele Batistuta came free, but Armando Armani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gabriele Batistuta to strike the kick off in the second half. Zézinho Neiva struck a weak shot in the 50th minute. Soroca F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Abdoulay Doucouré scored to the left of an out of position Armando Armani, making the score, 1-2. 91 minutes into the game, Siro Osasun threw the ball into play from the sideline. Soroca F.C.'s Zézinho Neiva quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Camilo Salvidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Răzvan Necula in the 92nd minute of play. Herbert Pilarski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
