Godfredo Gau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Clis having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Riquelme got free with Adrian Clis in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Denis Paulin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Roldan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Imperio Académico's Adrian Clis got control of the ball when Ricky Lotte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Godfredo Gau could shoot a difficult shot in the 10th minute, which Adrian Clis however easily saved by the left post. 11 minutes into the match, Defensores de Lombroso's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Jerrold came free, but Denis Paulin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Defensores de Lombroso's Denis Paulin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismael Jerrold in the 15th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Angelo Hibai cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Denis Paulin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Jerrold in the 21st minute of play forced Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Denis Paulin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denis Paulin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Hibai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Imperio Académico were awarded a corner. Hilario Tab went to the cornerflag to take it. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Ricky Lotte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores de Lombroso's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricky Lotte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Clis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute, Angelo Hibai made a precise shot to the right of Denis Paulin. Defensores de Lombroso's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. A hard shot 33 in the game by Ricky Lotte from a close distance when the talented Adrian Clis managed to make a qualified save. Imperio Académico's players were relieved. Ricky Lotte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Denis Paulin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Jerrold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roman Riquelme's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Adrian Clis firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 42nd minute Ismael Jerrold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Paulin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Imperio Académico's 范荣城 was substituted for Hilario Tab. A collision led to Imperio Académico getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Gilbert Lange hit a great ball. After having played for 74 minutes, Uriel Ferrer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensores de Lombroso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Uriel Ferrer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adrian Clis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofilo Esdras, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Defensores de Lombroso's Denis Paulin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Defensores de Lombroso from getting a goal against them. Adrian Clis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Uriel Ferrer went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cipriano Henry in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Denis Paulin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 90th minute, Imperio Académico's Cipriano Henry dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Denis Paulin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ismael Jerrold in the 94th minute. When Ubaldo Gelacio fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Defensores de Lombroso's protests and gave Ubaldo Gelacio a yellow card for diving instead. After 96 played minutes Imperio Académico got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Jerrold. The Defensores de Lombroso supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Imperio Académico's performance. The match ended with a win for Imperio Académico.
