Ahmad Abedzadeh had in the 27thth minute some difficulties stopping Benedicto Naelio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anoush Khalatbari in the 29th minute of play forced Argentina's goalkeeper Lev Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iran's Ahmad Abedzadeh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Naelio in the 32nd minute of play. Lev Yashin made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Farshid Nateghi sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle sounded Argentina left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Iran.
