Vladimir Miheev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Suat Kaya in the 2nd minute of play. In the 4th minute, Zbyszko Cupial got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Canastro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vergil Rupov came free, but Vladimir Miheev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zbyszko Cupial scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jannes Van Leempoel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Suat Kaya got free with Vladimir Miheev in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zbyszko Cupial blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jannes Van Leempoel having to make a save. In the 20th minute Zbyszko Cupial shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jannes Van Leempoel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vergil Rupov received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vladimir Miheev came out and tried to block the shot, but Vergil Rupov slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 23rd minute. 32 minutes into the match, Vergil Rupov notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Canastro FC's Vladimir Miheev. Vladimir Miheev was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vladimir Miheev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rain De Hond in the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th match minute, Canastro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zbyszko Cupial to maneuver through the defense. Vladimir Miheev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vergil Rupov in the 37th minute of the match. Zbyszko Cupial might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jannes Van Leempoel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 40th minute Zbyszko Cupial shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jannes Van Leempoel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Eduardo Barros struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Jannes Van Leempoel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canastro FC.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vergil Rupov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vladimir Miheev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Suat Kaya in the 51st minute of the match. Vladimir Miheev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suat Kaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After taking down the ball on Genk's corner 邵泉林 fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vladimir Miheev quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vergil Rupov in the 71st minute of play forced Canastro FC's goalkeeper Vladimir Miheev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vladimir Miheev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vergil Rupov in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Luiz Eduardo Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Genk's 邵泉林 tried to score from far away in the 75th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Vladimir Miheev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Suat Kaya's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Vergil Rupov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Vladimir Miheev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Tony Mampaerts in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Canastro FC's Duarte Rocha. The corner led Genk's 邵泉林 to fire away a dangerous shot which Vladimir Miheev despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
