With a little luck, Sydney FC's Wojtek Carl got control of the ball when Gordon Barlag tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sydney FC's Wojtek Carl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Sally in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Steffen Herbert got a free kick in the 24th minute. When Nicolas Tantholt came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Randers A.F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolas Tantholt couldn't finish the play. Wilhelm Oppenlænder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcello Karger in the 29th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Randers A.F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Thorben Rittmann came free, but Wilhelm Oppenlænder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilhelm Oppenlænder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thorben Rittmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Wojtek Carl got control of the ball when Gordon Barlag tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gordon Barlag received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wojtek Carl came out and tried to block the shot, but Gordon Barlag slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gordon Barlag in the 41st minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Wojtek Carl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Sydney FC made a substitution. Julius Humann replaced Henrik Reifer. The wind increased when Gordon Barlag made the kick off in the second half. Jörgen Schröder hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute, Marcello Karger made a precise shot to the right of Wilhelm Oppenlænder. Randers A.F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 60th minute, Marcello Karger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 65 minutes, Aake Guldsing mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Randers A.F.C. and the Sydney FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Aake Guldsing hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 66 minutes into the match, Randers A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Wilhelm Oppenlænder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steffen Herbert. After a rather tough play, Randers A.F.C.'s Baltazar Sally got a free kick in the 68th minute. Kristoffer Nimtofte took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wojtek Carl. Wojtek Carl dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. If Bartolomeo Heinlein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolas Tantholt hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Wilhelm Oppenlænder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julius Humann in the 77th minute of play. Wojtek Carl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gordon Barlag in the 82nd minute of play. Wojtek Carl didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gordon Barlag went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sydney FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Randers A.F.C..
