The Guansa fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Guansa's Fidel Gaufred looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sérgio Galvão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Fidel Gaufred took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Sérgio Galvão to make any attempt to save it. In the 17th minute of the match LaZuli got a corner. Guansa's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Anselmo Bacelar ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Anselmo Bacelar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Guansa's Alfonso Lauro did a great save. When Guansa's Albino Elequemedo in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye LaZuli's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romulo Haritzeder during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sérgio Galvão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 47 minutes into the game, Guansa's Albino Elequemedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sérgio Galvão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

A collision led to LaZuli getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Ivo Ferreira hit a great ball. Sérgio Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albino Elequemedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Guansa's zone, Anselmo Bacelar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfonso Lauro came out of the goal and Anselmo Bacelar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sérgio Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albino Elequemedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute Hermengildo Bladi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. LaZuli's Sérgio Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidel Gaufred in the 67th minute of play. Rui Vital blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfonso Lauro having to make a save. LaZuli's Sérgio Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermengildo Bladi in the 96th minute of play. Romulo Haritzeder took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sérgio Galvão. Sérgio Galvão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0.
