C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcos Monsanto was slow to take the kick. During this time Viseu United's players had a chance to rest. The Viseu United fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Viseu United's Lucjan Falkiewicz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Viseu United were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Mexilhão F. C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcos Monsanto took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Nilmar Maia managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Guga Tavares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Urti Baeza came free, but Guga Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 minutes Mexilhão F. C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcos Monsanto who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Angelsø in the 28th minute of play forced Viseu United's goalkeeper Rodrigo Beliran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tony Angelsø in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodrigo Beliran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Urti Baeza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Guga Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urti Baeza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute Tony Angelsø shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Beliran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Guga Tavares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mexilhão F. C.'s Guga Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urti Baeza in the 36th minute of play. Guga Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urti Baeza in the 39th minute of the match. Urti Baeza might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guga Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Urti Baeza ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Mexilhão F. C.'s Guga Tavares got control of the ball when Urti Baeza tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tony Angelsø stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mexilhão F. C.'s Guga Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urti Baeza in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rdth minute of the game Urti Baeza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexilhão F. C.'s Guga Tavares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Viseu United's Urti Baeza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guga Tavares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rodrigo Beliran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Angelsø in the 56th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Urti Baeza put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Guga Tavares. Guga Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urti Baeza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexilhão F. Urti Baeza ran back to his position shaking his head. Guga Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urti Baeza, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 81 minutes into the game, Urti Baeza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Guga Tavares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Urti Baeza in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guga Tavares saved Mexilhão F. C. from getting behind. Urti Baeza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga Tavares having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Urti Baeza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Viseu United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. 91 minutes into the match, Urti Baeza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guga Tavares. Mexilhão F. C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Urti Baeza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. In the 95th minute of the match Marcos Monsanto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guga Tavares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mexilhão F. C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
