Gísli Langnickel ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Merengue FC's Bayan Gugovski got control of the ball when Gísli Langnickel tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Gísli Langnickel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bayan Gugovski was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Merengue FC's zone, Gísli Langnickel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bayan Gugovski came out of the goal and Gísli Langnickel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 21 minutes into the match, Gísli Langnickel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bayan Gugovski, 1-0. Bayan Gugovski made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Gísli Langnickel sent off a good shot on target. Emory Øien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgil Siclovan, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Merengue FC's Bayan Gugovski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gísli Langnickel in the 45th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Aversa made a substitution. Ferdinando Cesarini replaced Eerik Eha. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gísli Langnickel was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Aversa getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Ferdinando Cesarini hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ediberto Sampaio got free with Emory Øien in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Aversa booed when Merengue FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Carlos Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Merengue FC made a substitution. Albino Dimas replaced João Carlos Bertassi. After 61 played minutes Merengue FC got a freekick which was hit by João Carlos Bertassi. Aversa's Gísli Langnickel got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bayan Gugovski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gísli Langnickel, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 64 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gísli Langnickel came free, but Bayan Gugovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
