But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Su Xu Xi couldn't finish the play. Su Xu Xi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Fafinski having to interfere. After 10 played minutes Unione Sportiva got a freekick which was hit by Ime Palavos. AKS Chorzów's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Su Xu Xi scored to the left of an out of position Iwan Fafinski, making the score, 1-0. Kimon Yfantis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Fafinski having to interfere. Su Xu Xi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iwan Fafinski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Iwan Fafinski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tassos Koutsoubos in the 23rd minute of play. Iwan Fafinski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Su Xu Xi in the 27th minute. Iwan Fafinski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Su Xu Xi's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. If Tassos Koutsoubos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AKS Chorzów's Waldemar Buczak quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Cassiano Vilas Boas, made in the 36th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Su Xu Xi in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iwan Fafinski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Su Xu Xi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Iwan Fafinski made a huge save. Waldemar Buczak hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Su Xu Xi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Iwan Fafinski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Su Xu Xi was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes, Waldemar Buczak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AKS Chorzów and the Unione Sportiva players grew even worse after the yellow card. Iwan Fafinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Su Xu Xi, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The throw-in from Emil Budzynski in the 82nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Unione Sportiva's Tassos Koutsoubos. A collision led to Unione Sportiva getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Tassos Koutsoubos hit a great ball. Tassos Koutsoubos took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iwan Fafinski. Iwan Fafinski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Fernado Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aureliusz Majkowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AKS Chorzów's Iwan Fafinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Su Xu Xi in the 96th minute of play.
