Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by German Silvanito. Toms Felss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Sellers, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kerry Sellers in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Toms Felss prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 24 minutes into the game, C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Toms Felss made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in GAUJA's zone, Kerry Sellers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toms Felss came out of the goal and Kerry Sellers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 35 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Toms Felss narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, GAUJA's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Toms Felss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Gustafson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Silvanito in the 45th minute of play. The GAUJA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C. A. Independiente were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kerry Sellers was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes GAUJA got a freekick which was hit by Ulvis Cetmens. The long shot by Eric Snowden in the 52nd minute really tested Toms Felss's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. It was a well-played corner which Alfredo Felder managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Toms Felss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Sellers, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Kerry Sellers struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Toms Felss didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Independiente. Farid Mondragón showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zigismunds Piekalns in the 63rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling German Silvanito in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Farid Mondragón prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 69 minutes into the match, Kerry Sellers notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of GAUJA's Toms Felss. Toms Felss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kerry Sellers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Toms Felss made a huge save. In the 78th minute of the match C. A. Independiente got a corner. GAUJA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eric Snowden ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on C. A. Independiente's corner Eric Snowden fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Toms Felss quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pan Jing Qi in the 80th minute of play forced GAUJA's goalkeeper Toms Felss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 81 minutes GAUJA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eric Snowden who took care of the corner kick. Kerry Sellers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Toms Felss made a huge save. GAUJA's Toms Skirmanis got his second yellow card of the match in the 85th minute. The referee ordered Toms Skirmanis off the ground. In the 86th match minute, GAUJA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toms Skirmanis to maneuver through the defense. Toms Felss acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 87th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Pan Jing Qi. Antonio Lluis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Farid Mondragón tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C. A. Independiente's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
