The crowd rose to their feet as Gustavo Scarpa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Aden Couzens. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's Gustavo Scarpa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aden Couzens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 10th minute Gustavo Scarpa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aden Couzens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Elderslie Magpies's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Scarpa came free, but Aden Couzens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gustavo Scarpa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 17th minute Gustavo Scarpa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aden Couzens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Borys Gruchacz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rick Souness in the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute of the match, Gustavo Scarpa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aden Couzens saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Elderslie Magpies's Rick Souness in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalie prevented a goal. In the 24th minute Elderslie Magpies were awarded a corner. Corbett Alonso went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Elderslie Magpies's Corbett Alonso to fire away a dangerous shot which Borys Gruchacz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gustavo Scarpa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Robben Robbermond in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Joinville United - FSCMZ's Betão Marquez. Gustavo Scarpa had several of the Elderslie Magpies's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 33 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Aden Couzens as he didn't even see the shot coming. 39 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's Gustavo Scarpa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aden Couzens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 42nd match minute, Elderslie Magpies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robben Robbermond to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lennart Khan got free with Aden Couzens in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aden Couzens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Scarpa, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gustavo Scarpa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aden Couzens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Scarpa in the 51st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Gustavo Scarpa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joinville United - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo Scarpa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aden Couzens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Lennart Khan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Burns Muller during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Joinville United - FSCMZ booed when Elderslie Magpies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Burns Muller didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Offendahl in the 60th minute of play forced Elderslie Magpies's goalkeeper Aden Couzens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rick Souness had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Mané Lara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aden Couzens was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. When Joinville United - FSCMZ's Mané Lara in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Elderslie Magpies's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arne Offendahl ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Joinville United - FSCMZ's Arne Offendahl to fire away a dangerous shot which Aden Couzens despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Joinville United - FSCMZ were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Elderslie Magpies's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arne Offendahl took the corner. 80 minutes into the match, Elderslie Magpies's goal looked a bit too open when Mané Lara came free, but Aden Couzens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mané Lara in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aden Couzens saved Elderslie Magpies from getting behind. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Elderslie Magpies's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arne Offendahl was slow to take the kick. During this time Joinville United - FSCMZ's players had a chance to rest. Lennart Khan made a great header on Joinville United - FSCMZ's corner, it was just that Elderslie Magpies's Aden Couzens managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 89th minute, Mané Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Joinville United - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1.
