GUAYACO's Karol Haskiewicz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 19 minutes of play, Celta de Virgos's Leopoldo Fernanco made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Karol Haskiewicz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leopoldo Fernanco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karol Haskiewicz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 minutes of play, Celta de Virgos's Leopoldo Fernanco made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Karol Haskiewicz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leopoldo Fernanco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute Leopoldo Fernanco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karol Haskiewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karol Haskiewicz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leopoldo Fernanco went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Antonio Madeo hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The supporters of C.A. GUAYACO booed when Celta de Virgos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldo Poz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 43 played minutes, Celta de Virgos's Celestino Fero shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Karol Haskiewicz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Celta de Virgos reached it. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Ceferino Austin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caicedo Berrondo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Celta de Virgos's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
