To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cleto Papo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tostão Cardoso having to interfere. When Paolo Ekialde fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Celtic FC's protests and gave Paolo Ekialde a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Celtic FC's Paolo Ekialde got a free kick in the 19th minute. After 24 played minutes Celtic FC got a freekick which was hit by Isman Bajuri. Manuel Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Manuel Barreto notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Celtic FC's Angelo Quico. Angelo Quico was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Angelo Quico was a little too slow when Manuel Barreto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 2-0. After having played for 36 minutes, Vinicio Nuno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celtic FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vinicio Nuno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Christiano Siqueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Angelo Quico was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Montesclarense E.C.'s Tostão Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Nuno in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Manuel Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montesclarense E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelo Quico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Angelo Quico was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Christiano Siqueira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 44 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedrão Hoffmann to strike the kick off in the second half. Paolo Ekialde hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After 54 played minutes, Montesclarense E.C.'s Roberto Melo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Angelo Quico came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Montesclarense E.C. reached it. 56 minutes into the game, Cleto Papo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Celtic FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montesclarense E.C. the free kick. After 56 played minutes Celtic FC got a freekick which was hit by Cleto Papo. A collision led to Celtic FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jesus Jon hit a great ball. Roberto Melo, 58 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Vinicio Nuno's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Tostão Cardoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cleto Papo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tostão Cardoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vinicio Nuno got free with Tostão Cardoso in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 65th match minute, Celtic FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Vellito to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Quico having to interfere. Jesus Jon hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute of the match Roberto Melo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angelo Quico showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Montesclarense E.C. booed when Celtic FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Ekialde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vinicio Nuno's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Tostão Cardoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Guilherme Marinho charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guilherme Marinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Montesclarense E.C.! In the 86th minute there was a penalty for Celtic FC. Jesus Jon stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tostão Cardoso. 3-1. If Pedrão Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Celtic FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Montesclarense E.C.. Roberto Melo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Angelo Quico. 4-1. 101 minutes into the match, Christiano Siqueira notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Celtic FC's Angelo Quico. Angelo Quico was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that Montesclarense E.C. were the better team. Montesclarense E.C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
