In the 11th minute, Waclaw Jaroszewicz made a precise shot to the right of Lenílson Quintal. BRASIL.Sp's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Thomas Vollmar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Vollmar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lenílson Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Vollmar in the 18th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastle United's zone, Rodriguinho do Valle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ksawery Kiepski came out of the goal and Rodriguinho do Valle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ksawery Kiepski made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Rodriguinho do Valle sent off a good shot on target. Ksawery Kiepski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodriguinho do Valle in the 31st minute of the match. Ksawery Kiepski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano do Vale in the 42nd minute of play. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when BRASIL.Sp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovanni Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lenílson Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olaf Filipkowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgar Pleban during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edgar Pleban hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. After 49 minutes, Pedrinho de Godoi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BRASIL.Sp and the Newcastle United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 50th match minute, BRASIL.Sp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrinho de Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cipriano do Vale was the one to do the kick off. Edgar Pleban was shown his second yellow card after 57 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Newcastle United's Olaf Filipkowski got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Mariusz Ikalewicz fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newcastle United's protests and gave Mariusz Ikalewicz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Newcastle United getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Mariusz Ikalewicz hit a great ball. Breno Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Borys Szarmach's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lenílson Quintal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano do Vale came free, but Ksawery Kiepski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind BRASIL.Sp's goalkeeper Lenílson Quintal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodriguinho do Valle in the 84th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Ksawery Kiepski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ksawery Kiepski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano do Vale in the 86th minute of play. Waclaw Jaroszewicz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lenílson Quintal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Rodriguinho do Valle hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Wlodzimierz Sokolski took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Lenílson Quintal to make any attempt to save it. 97 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's Arkadiusz Rojewski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lenílson Quintal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Newcastle United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Newcastle United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
