In the 5th minute Toninho Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomás Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 11 played minutes XV de Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Novaes. Sydney Carioca's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Otávio Toscano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 31 minutes into the match, Barrenta SC's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Jax came free, but Edgar Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute Sydney Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. XV de Piracicaba's Claudinho Arantes got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44th minute of the match Barrenta SC got a corner. XV de Piracicaba's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vicente Leme ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Vicente Leme got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Otávio Toscano quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 46 minutes into the match, Barrenta SC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Arantes came free, but Edgar Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jânio Lopez hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Toninho Galvão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edgar Trigo having to make a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudinho Arantes made a kick off. Barrenta SC's Edgar Trigo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Barrenta SC from getting a goal against them. After 53 played minutes Barrenta SC got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Nóbrega. Edgar Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Sydney Carioca sped through XV de Piracicaba's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Otávio Toscano. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sydney Carioca in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Otávio Toscano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Evandro Vaz took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otávio Toscano. Otávio Toscano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 79 minutes into the match, Barrenta SC's goalkeeper Edgar Trigo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nestor Jax. In the 83rd minute, Evandro Vaz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Otávio Toscano was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. If Hugo Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otávio Toscano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sydney Carioca's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Barrenta SC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
