In the 6th minute Gösta Giliusson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Urti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gösta Giliusson might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristian Urti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gösta Giliusson ran back to his position shaking his head. 9 minutes into the match, El Azulgrana's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Giliusson came free, but Cristian Urti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Gösta Giliusson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristian Urti. In the 21st minute, Gösta Giliusson made a precise shot to the right of Cristian Urti. El Azulgrana's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 24 minutes into the match, Blue Mountain State's goal looked a bit too open when Vinicio Franco came free, but Robin Sharma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, El Azulgrana's Cristian Urti got control of the ball when Gösta Giliusson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gösta Giliusson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gösta Giliusson made a kick off. Lionel-Andrés Messi replaced Gösta Giliusson. After 64 played minutes El Azulgrana got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Corderro. After 83rd play minutes Lionel-Andrés Messi shot 9-1, a short shot which went by Cristian Urti and just under the crossbar into goal. Nicolas Sol hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Cristian Urti didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lionel-Andrés Messi went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-1 was the resulting score. Blue Mountain State's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
