An unexpectedly hard shot by Eyvar Janusson in the 3rd minute of play forced Legia Warszawa's goalkeeper Zenon Pleban to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Legia Warszawa's Dênis Hoffmann threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bartlomiej Buczko, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The referee felt a red card was in order, 4 minutes into the game, when Eugênio Magalhães put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Goiás Esporte Clube:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Legia Warszawa:s goal. Dênis Hoffmann came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Legia Warszawa's Leszek Podwojski. But to his dismay, Leszek Podwojski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Zenon Pleban took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filipe Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Acácio Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Goiás Esporte Clube's Dênis Hoffmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karol Tomiczek in the 20th minute of play. Mike Tyson kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Qiu Yang reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dênis Hoffmann. The goal made the score 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Legia Warszawa's Bartlomiej Buczko slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dênis Hoffmann. That made the score 3-0 after 29 minutes of play. Dênis Hoffmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karol Tomiczek in the 35th minute of the match. After 39 minutes of play, Legia Warszawa's Bartlomiej Buczko made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dênis Hoffmann was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Legia Warszawa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leszek Podwojski to strike the kick off in the second half. Dênis Hoffmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucian Mihăilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Legia Warszawa's Zenon Pleban played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Machado in the 52nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leszek Podwojski in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dênis Hoffmann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 56 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Gabriel Velloso. The Legia Warszawa fans cheered their team off the field, for while Goiás Esporte Clube had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
