The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A hard shot 6 in the game by Doğuhan Serbülend from a close distance when the talented Kristian Donath managed to make a qualified save. KFC Uerdingen 05's players were relieved. Kristian Donath made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Doğuhan Serbülend sent off a good shot on target. Doğuhan Serbülend could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Kristian Donath made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Fear Of The Dark's Cem Uğurtay got a free kick in the 13th minute. Kristian Donath made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doğuhan Serbülend in the 15th minute. Anton Praßke kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Fear Of The Dark were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after KFC Uerdingen 05's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ufuk Yalazalp took the corner. Anton Praßke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ugaitz Corales made in the 28th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Fear Of The Dark's Cem Uğurtay. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doğuhan Serbülend in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kristian Donath saved KFC Uerdingen 05 from getting behind. The supporters of KFC Uerdingen 05 booed when Fear Of The Dark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cuma Bakırcı didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hüseyin Cahit Mülayim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Bannenbusch in the 33rd minute of play. Doğuhan Serbülend recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th minute Fear Of The Dark were awarded a corner. Ufuk Yalazalp went to the cornerflag to take it. Cem Uğurtay made a great header on Fear Of The Dark's corner, it was just that KFC Uerdingen 05's Kristian Donath managed to reach the ball for a save. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Brian Laudrup got free with Hüseyin Cahit Mülayim in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 57th minute Cuma Bakırcı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristian Donath saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cuma Bakırcı scored 1-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kristian Donath, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fear Of The Dark's İnanç Tarhan was substituted for Besim İlsak. After 66 minutes Fear Of The Dark's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ricardo Lugebiel who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Brian Laudrup managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Kristian Donath took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bayan Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. KFC Uerdingen 05's Kristian Donath played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bayan Gol in the 70th minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Bayan Gol notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of KFC Uerdingen 05's Kristian Donath. Kristian Donath was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 76th play minutes Bayan Gol shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Kristian Donath and just under the crossbar into goal. After some careless play in the KFC Uerdingen 05 defense, Bayan Gol kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kristian Donath. The KFC Uerdingen 05 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kristian Donath should have stopped the shot. In the 85th minute of the game Ugaitz Corales made a throw-in which Helmuth Bökelmann played forward. Kristian Donath took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bayan Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute, Bayan Gol made a precise shot to the right of Kristian Donath. KFC Uerdingen 05's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Bayan Gol blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kristian Donath having to make a save. Kristian Donath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bayan Gol, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After 94 played minutes Fear Of The Dark got a freekick which was hit by Fermin Lizbeth. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Fear Of The Dark fans cheered their team off the field, for while KFC Uerdingen 05 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
