Rômulo Souto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind MUSHIBA FC's goalkeeper Rômulo Souto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rômulo Souto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Pico in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute Walter Pico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rômulo Souto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermínio Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, MUSHIBA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Pico came free, but Rômulo Souto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Walter Pico left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Mandiyu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in MUSHIBA FC's zone, Márton Peterdy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind MUSHIBA FC's goalkeeper Rômulo Souto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walter Pico in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rômulo Souto saved MUSHIBA FC from getting behind. The Deportivo Mandiyu fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Deportivo Mandiyu's Walter Pico looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Epifanio Clementi in the 42nd minute of play forced MUSHIBA FC's goalkeeper Rômulo Souto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Walter Pico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walter Pico in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rômulo Souto saved MUSHIBA FC from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walter Pico made a kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind MUSHIBA FC's goalkeeper Rômulo Souto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 54 minutes into the match, MUSHIBA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Pico came free, but Rômulo Souto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Walter Pico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Mandiyu's supporters rose to their feet, but Walter Pico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rômulo Souto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to MUSHIBA FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Walter Pico might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rômulo Souto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walter Pico ran back to his position shaking his head. When Anselmo Neiva fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MUSHIBA FC's protests and gave Anselmo Neiva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th match minute, MUSHIBA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Neiva to maneuver through the defense. Roberto Cherro came free with the goalkeeper in the 79th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rômulo Souto could save by the left post. In the 80th minute Deportivo Mandiyu were awarded a corner. Roberto Cherro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rômulo Souto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Roberto Cherro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rômulo Souto. That made the score 0-7 in the 86 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roberto Cherro got free with Rômulo Souto in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juan de Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan de Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th minute, Roberto Cherro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Mandiyu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8.
