The audience thought a goal was coming when Wally Guzman got free with Lev Yashin in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the match, Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Epifanio Aznar came free, but Gilberto Boone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benedicto Naelio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Gilberto Boone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilberto Boone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedicto Naelio in the 42nd minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wally Guzman made a kick off. Gilberto Boone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Epifanio Aznar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute Wally Guzman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lev Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Epifanio Aznar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Canada's attentive Jamey Hankins managed to snatch the ball when Isidoro Estebe made a throw-in in the 58th minute of the game. Argentina's Claudio Domeka was substituted for Benedicto Naelio. Gilberto Boone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Domeka in the 69th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Claudio Domeka's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Boone was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. 73 minutes into the match, Severo Rolado dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gilberto Boone, 1-1. In the 89th minute, Eli Stoddard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Epifanio Aznar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Gilberto Boone made a huge save. In the 94th minute of the match, Claudio Domeka tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gilberto Boone saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
