Ramiro Abeita hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the match, Sportivo Barrio Obrero's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Haedo came free, but Erik Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Nicanor Cuetos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sportivo Barrio Obrero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Olimpia the free kick. Nicanor Cuetos hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Erik Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Haedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Nelson Haedo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sportivo Barrio Obrero's Erik Souza. Erik Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Haedo in the 20th minute of play forced Sportivo Barrio Obrero's goalkeeper Erik Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Nelson Haedo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 23 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Erik Souza was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Mateus Baruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Souza having to interfere. Sportivo Barrio Obrero's Erik Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson Haedo in the 27th minute of play. Ramiro Abeita charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramiro Abeita the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Club Olimpia booed when Sportivo Barrio Obrero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Abeita didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, one of Sportivo Barrio Obrero:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sportivo Barrio Obrero. 31 minutes into the game, Club Olimpia's Nelson Haedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erik Souza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Erik Souza came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Olimpia's Nelson Haedo. But to his dismay, Nelson Haedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. If Anibal Escrig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 45th match minute, Sportivo Barrio Obrero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramiro Abeita to maneuver through the defense. Erik Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelson Haedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half Club Olimpia were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The crowd rose to their feet as Club Olimpia's Nelson Haedo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Erik Souza. That made the score 0-4 after 52 minutes of play. In the 58th match minute, Sportivo Barrio Obrero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicanor Cuetos to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Sportivo Barrio Obrero's goalkeeper Erik Souza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Otsoa Manzardo. In the 69thth minute of the game Nelson Haedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sportivo Barrio Obrero's Erik Souza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erik Souza was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Manny Rubion showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 73 minute of play. Erik Souza made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Manny Rubion sent off a good shot on target. Erik Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viviano Poo in the 78th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Nelson Haedo took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Erik Souza to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Club Olimpia's Mateo Gamarra got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute Nicanor Cuetos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teyo Ordoñez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viviano Poo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Erik Souza came out and tried to block the shot, but Viviano Poo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 88th minute. Nelson Haedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Haedo in the 92nd minute of play forced Sportivo Barrio Obrero's goalkeeper Erik Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Sportivo Barrio Obrero defense, Manny Rubion kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erik Souza. The Sportivo Barrio Obrero fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erik Souza should have stopped the shot. When the final whistle sounded Club Olimpia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sportivo Barrio Obrero.
