Vito Magalhães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicanor Cuetos's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Erik Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xuoco Fermoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, Sportivo Barrio Obrero's goal looked a bit too open when Xuoco Fermoso came free, but Erik Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Saul Reñe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erik Souza was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Koldo Donis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Erik Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Reñe in the 17th minute of play. Erik Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saul Reñe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Barrio Obrero's Fortunato Navaridas got a free kick in the 24th minute. Erik Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robustiano Tximitx, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 33rd match minute, Sportivo Barrio Obrero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pabla Ludeña to maneuver through the defense. Sportivo Barrio Obrero's Erik Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robustiano Tximitx in the 37th minute of play. After some careless play in the Sportivo Barrio Obrero defense, Robustiano Tximitx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erik Souza. The Sportivo Barrio Obrero fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erik Souza should have stopped the shot. Erik Souza came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by OLIMPIA's Saul Reñe. But to his dismay, Saul Reñe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 43 minutes, Gartzea Sole mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the OLIMPIA and the Sportivo Barrio Obrero players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th minute, Gartzea Sole hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee felt a red card was in order, 45 minutes into the game, when Pabla Ludeña put in a rough tackle. Pabla Ludeña hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute of the match Saverio Fermosel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erik Souza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half OLIMPIA were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robustiano Tximitx was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Sportivo Barrio Obrero getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Fortunato Navaridas hit a great ball. Saverio Fermosel struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Erik Souza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for OLIMPIA. 55 minutes into the match, Sportivo Barrio Obrero's goal looked a bit too open when Gartzea Sole came free, but Erik Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute Saul Reñe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Saul Reñe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erik Souza. Sportivo Barrio Obrero's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Saul Reñe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Erik Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Reñe in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute of the match Salbatore Gainzarain sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erik Souza skillfully saved the ball. Sportivo Barrio Obrero's Erik Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Sportivo Barrio Obrero from getting a goal against them. Jaunti Hurtado hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The supporters of Sportivo Barrio Obrero booed when OLIMPIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salbatore Gainzarain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robustiano Tximitx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Souza having to interfere. After 76 minutes of play, OLIMPIA's Saul Reñe made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erik Souza was left in no man's land by his defense there! Erik Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xuoco Fermoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, Frederico Freijo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute of the match Fortunato Navaridas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vito Magalhães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fortunato Navaridas hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. If Xuoco Fermoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Saul Reñe might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik Souza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saul Reñe ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched OLIMPIA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
