Cristinel Alexe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. A collision led to Altay SK getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Artun Özarkın hit a great ball. Cristinel Alexe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genco Gürler in the 19th minute of play. Altay SK's attentive İstemihan Ulun managed to snatch the ball when Octavian Nicolcioiu made a throw-in in the 21st minute of the game. In the 22nd minute, İstemihan Ulun made a precise shot to the right of Cristinel Alexe. Champions Iasi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Genco Gürler scored 4-0 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristinel Alexe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Genco Gürler struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Cristinel Alexe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Altay SK. After a rather tough play, Altay SK's Melih Hozatlı got a free kick in the 39th minute. 42 minutes into the game, Altay SK's Fazıl Uğursel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristinel Alexe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Fazıl Uğursel's late challenge caught a Champions Iasi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fazıl Uğursel helped the player get up and apologised. Fazıl Uğursel kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Genco Gürler was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes in the game Paul Doroftei did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Manole Crașovan. In the 57th minute, Genco Gürler made a precise shot to the right of Cristinel Alexe. Champions Iasi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Champions Iasi's Cristinel Alexe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genco Gürler in the 60th minute of play. Cristinel Alexe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fazıl Uğursel took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristinel Alexe. Cristinel Alexe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. In the 85th minute, Fazıl Uğursel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Altay SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. After 90 minutes of play, Altay SK's Fazıl Uğursel made it 11-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristinel Alexe was left in no man's land by his defense there! Altay SK's Acun Mengücek quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Octavian Nicolcioiu, made in the 95th minute of the game. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Altay SK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Champions Iasi had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
