Róbson Custódio came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Lugano's Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon. But to his dismay, Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 17 minutes into the match, Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Róbson Custódio. Brasilino's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 21st minute Nilson Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godo Gøl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute, Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Lugano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. When Joe Blum fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Lugano's protests and gave Joe Blum a yellow card for diving instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nilson Esteves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amílton Sena in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Godo Gøl prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 58 minutes of play, FC Lugano's Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Róbson Custódio was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 63rd minute, Ray Büeler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Lugano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-1. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 9-1 when Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon sped through Brasilino's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Róbson Custódio. Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Róbson Custódio having to make a save. 74 minutes into the match, Brasilino's goal looked a bit too open when Jirko Bur came free, but Róbson Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ray Büeler in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Róbson Custódio saved Brasilino from getting behind. Róbson Custódio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ray Büeler in the 77th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 78 minutes into the game, when Caio Freitas put in a rough tackle. FC Lugano made a substitution. Dietrich Bucheli replaced Teddy Racine. In the 80th minute, Caio Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jirko Bur took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Róbson Custódio. Brasilino's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Róbson Custódio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jirko Bur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardo Porto during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jirko Bur took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Róbson Custódio. In the 95thth minute of the game Favian Muff who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brasilino's Róbson Custódio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Lugano's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
