Marko Ruskov scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bassam Wahbi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hristofor Borchev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fattah Budail in the 23rd minute of the match. Bulgaria's Hristofor Borchev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Bulgaria from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marko Ruskov in the 25th minute of play forced Lebanon's goalkeeper Bassam Wahbi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Marko Ruskov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bassam Wahbi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lebanon's Bassam Wahbi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marko Ruskov in the 35th minute of play. Fattah Budail's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hristofor Borchev firmly grabbed it by the left post. Fattah Budail came free with the goalkeeper in the 38th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hristofor Borchev could save by the left post. Ilko Hindalov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Bassam Wahbi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bassam Wahbi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marko Ruskov went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fattah Budail to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mostafa Jabal in the 53rd minute of play forced Bulgaria's goalkeeper Hristofor Borchev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Naycho Dotzov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Bulgaria's goal looked a bit too open when Fattah Budail came free, but Hristofor Borchev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 67 played minutes Bulgaria got a freekick which was hit by Ignat Nozharov. In the 68th minute of the match Hamodi Hamid sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hristofor Borchev skillfully saved the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Marko Ruskov kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bassam Wahbi. That made the score 0-3 in the 71 minute of play. Bassam Wahbi made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Marko Ruskov sent off a good shot on target. The throw-in from Waddah Fudail in the 82nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Bulgaria's Naycho Dotzov. After a rather tough play, Lebanon's Waddah Fudail got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Martin Petkov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Bassam Wahbi made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Lebanon's Hafiz Nusri got a free kick in the 86th minute. With a little luck, Lebanon's Bassam Wahbi got control of the ball when Martin Petkov tried to sneak it across the goal line. A throw-in in the 88th minute of the game was made by Waddah Fudail with Fattah Budail as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martin Petkov got free with Bassam Wahbi in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hristofor Borchev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fattah Budail in the 97th minute of play. The Bulgaria supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bulgaria would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
