The crowd rose to their feet as Adalberto Viegas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Karl Pilgren. That made the score 2-0 in the 15 minute of play. 20 minutes in the game Guga Tavares did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Haroldo Terra. In the 21st minute, Adalberto Viegas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Karl Pilgren. The goal made the score 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adalberto Viegas in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl Pilgren saved Jenipapo SC from getting behind. In the 27th minute of the game Kajetan Pilarski made a throw-in which Maurício Arósio played forward. 30 minutes into the match, MZ Fénix's Adalberto Viegas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl Pilgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jenipapo SC's Karl Pilgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Viegas in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jenipapo SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vygantas Petrošius was slow to take the kick. During this time MZ Fénix's players had a chance to rest. 39 minutes into the game, Basilio Ovando was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MZ Fénix's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jenipapo SC the free kick. A collision led to MZ Fénix getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Basilio Ovando hit a great ball. Adalberto Viegas might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karl Pilgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adalberto Viegas ran back to his position shaking his head. Karl Pilgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Viegas in the 43rd minute of the match. Karl Pilgren made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Adalberto Viegas sent off a good shot on target. Karl Pilgren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adalberto Viegas went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aníbal Alagoano made a kick off. Kajetan Pilarski made in the 51st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Haroldo Terra however managed to control. Nicolás Tauber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haroldo Terra in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Ivan Nyberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by MZ Fénix's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. After 84 played minutes Jenipapo SC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardinho Pena. The supporters of MZ Fénix booed when Jenipapo SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardinho Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vygantas Petrošius in the 85th minute of play forced Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Karl Pilgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cai Yuan Yuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Jenipapo SC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Kajetan Pilarski hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Jenipapo SC's zone, Ivan Nyberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl Pilgren came out of the goal and Ivan Nyberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The MZ Fénix fans cheered their team off the field, for while Jenipapo SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
