The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Donato Pinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Maore having to interfere. When Donato Pinto came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Club Atl. Cerillo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Pinto couldn't finish the play. Ramon Estefan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Jordi Roca made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Pinto in the 13th minute of play forced Dragón Red FC's goalkeeper Orlando Maore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matias Bilintx blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Orlando Maore having to make a save. If Donato Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jordi Roca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernan Frasco went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 21 minutes into the match, Club Atl. Cerillo's goalkeeper Jordi Roca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramon Estefan. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Matias Bilintx sped through Dragón Red FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Orlando Maore. In the 27th minute Cecilio Raymon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jordi Roca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Curt Olivieri's late challenge caught a Dragón Red FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Curt Olivieri helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Curt Olivieri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Dragón Red FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Cecilio Raymon hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donato Pinto to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Donato Pinto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Matias Bilintx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Maore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Pinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Atl. Cerillo's Matias Bilintx got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jordi Roca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernan Frasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Dragón Red FC's zone, Donato Pinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orlando Maore came out of the goal and Donato Pinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Dragón Red FC's Orlando Maore got control of the ball when Matias Bilintx tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Dragón Red FC booed when Club Atl. Cerillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Iraunkor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donato Pinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Maore having to interfere. Club Atl. Cerillo's Jordi Roca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Lander in the 92nd minute of play. Ulises Manni's late challenge caught a Club Atl. Cerillo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ulises Manni helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th match minute, Dragón Red FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulises Manni to maneuver through the defense. Dragón Red FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Club Atl. Cerillo had controlled the match.
