Xelaju FC's Agustin Fernandez started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 9 played minutes Birmingham got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Canales. Agustin Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abraham Braun having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Allan Pedrozo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronald Ayala was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Allan Pedrozo in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronald Ayala prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ronald Ayala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Odir Talia, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. A collision led to Birmingham getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Roberto Canales hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Birmingham's Jhonnatan Mendez got a free kick in the 18th minute. Xelaju FC's Oscar Ocampo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 19th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Birmingham. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Roberto Canales managed to get in a good position for a shot. Birmingham's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Canales was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronald Ayala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute Allan Pedrozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronald Ayala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Xelaju FC's goal looked a bit too open when Odir Talia came free, but Ronald Ayala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Salvador Villalobos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xelaju FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Salvador Villalobos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abraham Braun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Birmingham's zone, Salvador Villalobos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Roberto Canales made the kick off in the second half. Abraham Braun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustin Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Ronald Ayala made an important save on a dangerous shot by Odir Talia in the 56th minute. In the 61st minute, Roberto Canales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Salvador Villalobos hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. A collision led to Xelaju FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Ricardo Díaz hit a great ball. In the 74th minute of the match Jhonnatan Mendez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronald Ayala skillfully saved the ball. Abraham Braun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcos Leiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abraham Braun having to interfere. Odir Talia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronald Ayala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. When the final whistle went the supporters of Birmingham were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Xelaju FC side.
