But to his dismay, Mohamed Kouidri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 14 minutes, Gilles Raho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the zarateño-a and the Holtville players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gilles Raho kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Holtville's goal looked a bit too open when Abdel Zerara came free, but Faouzi Yacine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Abdellah Medjadi Belmadi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mohamed Kouidri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mohamed Kouidri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Holtville's Mohamed Kouidri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Youssef Fahima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When Daho Mérah-Benida fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored zarateño-a's protests and gave Daho Mérah-Benida a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to zarateño-a getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Daho Mérah-Benida hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mohamed Kouidri in the 52nd minute of play forced zarateño-a's goalkeeper Youssef Fahima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abdellah Medjadi Belmadi scored 1-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Faouzi Yacine, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. zarateño-a's Youssef Fahima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohamed Kouidri in the 58th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Bouzid Adjani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jean-Michel Moussaoui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Mohamed Kouidri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jean-Michel Moussaoui's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Youssef Fahima was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. 75 minutes into the game, Holtville's Mohamed Kouidri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Youssef Fahima made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Mohamed Kouidri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Holtville's Hamid Khalef got a free kick in the 86th minute. Jean-Michel Moussaoui might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Youssef Fahima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jean-Michel Moussaoui ran back to his position shaking his head. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Holtville had played much better football throughout.
