The Des Moines FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Des Moines FC's zone, Mounir Zarabi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mehdi Camus came out of the goal and Mounir Zarabi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd minute of the match, Mouloud Reda Madouni got a very nice opportunity to score, but Karim Feraoun was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mouloud Reda Madouni in the 32nd minute of play forced Mount Prospect FC's goalkeeper Karim Feraoun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mouloud Reda Madouni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Karim Feraoun made a huge save. The supporters of Mount Prospect FC booed when Des Moines FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cheb Hamid didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mouloud Reda Madouni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mansour Merzekane stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Karim Feraoun made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Des Moines FC's Mehdi Camus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Des Moines FC from getting a goal against them. When Mount Prospect FC's Mansour Merzekane in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Karim Feraoun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mouloud Reda Madouni's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. When Des Moines FC's Lakhdar Sahraoui in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Des Moines FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mount Prospect FC the free kick. In the 79th minute, Soltani Aziz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Mouloud Reda Madouni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Karim Feraoun came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Des Moines FC's Mouloud Reda Madouni. But to his dismay, Mouloud Reda Madouni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. After 89th play minutes Lakhdar Sahraoui shot 5-1, a short shot which went by Karim Feraoun and just under the crossbar into goal. If Mouloud Reda Madouni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lakhdar Sahraoui came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Des Moines FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lakhdar Sahraoui couldn't finish the play. Mount Prospect FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
