The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Zumar Gou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Nicunihue Futbol Clú's Loi Mendiune slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ferrando Era. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santio Palomeque got free with Ferrando Era in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ferrando Era was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Alberto Spencer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alberto Spencer really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Zumar Gou struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Hermogenes Hernández didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piriapolis. Teofilio Lazcano hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. When Melih Ağyar fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nicunihue Futbol Clú's protests and gave Melih Ağyar a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Nicunihue Futbol Clú getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Melih Ağyar hit a great ball. Alberto Spencer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Beliran Llain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Loi Mendiune got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Loi Mendiune to make the kick off. When Luzea Carmeneses fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piriapolis's protests and gave Luzea Carmeneses a yellow card for diving instead. After 51 played minutes Piriapolis got a freekick which was hit by Luzea Carmeneses. After a rather tough play, Nicunihue Futbol Clú's Edilberto Hondaro got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Zumar Gou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 56 minutes, Odilon Cañellas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nicunihue Futbol Clú and the Piriapolis players grew even worse after the yellow card. Piriapolis's Ferrando Era played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Spencer in the 59th minute of play. After 63 played minutes Piriapolis got a freekick which was hit by Bilbo Arenal. Hermogenes Hernández showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blasi Chirinos, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Nicunihue Futbol Clú's Hermogenes Hernández proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Nicunihue Futbol Clú from getting a goal against them. Ferrando Era stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Loi Mendiune's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. In the 94th minute, Loi Mendiune made a precise shot to the right of Ferrando Era. Piriapolis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Nicunihue Futbol Clú fully deserved thier win.
