RAFAMEIRAS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Renato Cruz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Norberto Meireles let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 37th minute shot 5-0 at rihgt post. Esteban Salomone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gildo Souto in the 41st minute of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Norberto Meireles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Esteban Salomone didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Renato Cruz went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. GRÊMIO fully deserved thier win.
