Maicon Cerezo charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maicon Cerezo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th minute, Maicon Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute Luiz Fábio Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fabiano Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, GAM's Murillo Passos got a free kick in the 28th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Tiago Paranaense made the kick off in the second half. If Luiz Fábio Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fábio Pimenta got free with Luís Fabiano Penha in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tiago Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute, Tiago Paranaense made a precise shot to the right of Luís Fabiano Penha. GAM's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 90th minute, Maicon Cerezo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Tiago Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fabiano Penha came out of the goal and Luiz Fábio Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. GAM succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Itacutiara had controlled the match.
