Mocacos EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardo Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnaldo Ceresso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cássio Terra charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cássio Terra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cássio Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Cristian Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sobral F.C.'s Cristian Pereira suffered a concussion in the 20th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 20 minutes, Reginaldo Rezende mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mocacos EC and the Sobral F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Reginaldo Rezende hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Mocacos EC's Emanuel Magalhães got control of the ball when Natanael dos Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 24th minute of the match Sobral F.C. got a corner. Mocacos EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jailson Cruz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Arnaldo Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wágner Paiva in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Natanael dos Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Sobral F.C. booed when Mocacos EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reginaldo Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. Natanael dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wágner Paiva to strike the kick off in the second half. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Natanael dos Santos came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Sobral F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Natanael dos Santos couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Mocacos EC's Marcos Barreto got a free kick in the 68th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mocacos EC's zone, Jailson Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Magalhães came out of the goal and Jailson Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Natanael dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Natanael dos Santos sped through Mocacos EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Emanuel Magalhães. Emanuel Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natanael dos Santos in the 82nd minute of the match. Natanael dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sobral F.C. fully deserved thier win.
