Cido Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When Aurel Frâncu came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Rio Brando de Andradas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aurel Frâncu couldn't finish the play. Fortunato Biancone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Mangueira in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute of the match União São José FC got a corner. Rio Brando de Andradas FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gil Meirelles ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gil Meirelles made a great header on União São José FC's corner, it was just that Rio Brando de Andradas FC's Fortunato Biancone managed to reach the ball for a save. When Inácio do Vale fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rio Brando de Andradas FC's protests and gave Inácio do Vale a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes Rio Brando de Andradas FC got a freekick which was hit by Inácio do Vale. Sérgio Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fortunato Biancone having to interfere. 45 minutes into the game, Claudinei Vinhas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. União São José FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rio Brando de Andradas FC the free kick. A collision led to União São José FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Claudinei Vinhas hit a great ball. Aurel Frâncu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Lauro da Silveira made a huge save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Võ Foder to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Rio Brando de Andradas FC were awarded a corner. Aurel Frâncu went to the cornerflag to take it. Aurel Frâncu made a great header on Rio Brando de Andradas FC's corner, it was just that União São José FC's Lauro da Silveira managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 56thth minute of the game Võ Foder who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União São José FC's Lauro da Silveira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 57 minutes into the match, União São José FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cido Souza came free, but Lauro da Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rio Brando de Andradas FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Claudinho Valadares hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Võ Foder's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lauro da Silveira was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Võ Foder sped through União São José FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lauro da Silveira. Inácio do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro da Silveira having to interfere. União São José FC's Lauro da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Võ Foder in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, União São José FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelson Zanette to maneuver through the defense. Lauro da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio do Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 76 minutes into the match, União São José FC's goal looked a bit too open when Võ Foder came free, but Lauro da Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fortunato Biancone made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Sérgio Mangueira sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in União São José FC's zone, Võ Foder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauro da Silveira came out of the goal and Võ Foder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, Rio Brando de Andradas FC's Cido Souza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lauro da Silveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 91 played minutes União São José FC got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Zanette. In the 94th minute, Reuben Chin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fortunato Biancone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Meirelles in the 95th minute of play. Lauro da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Võ Foder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rio Brando de Andradas FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
