The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, Froilan Rioja recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joaquin Sauveur. Froilan Rioja showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Wilfredo Frasco took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Sauveur. Joaquin Sauveur dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After a rather tough play, All Boys FC's Pedro Ranolfo got a free kick in the 44th minute. A hard shot by Gonzalo Gonchan from long distance, 45 minutes into the match, got Joaquin Sauveur's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romeo Leguizamón to make the kick off. Froilan Rioja struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute.
