Miguel Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Barea having to interfere. In the 7th minute of the match Pablo Vimaro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Apolo Barea skillfully saved the ball. In the 10th minute, Esteban Balendin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 13 minutes of play, Caimancito's Mauro Cordario made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cirilo Chaime was left in no man's land by his defense there! Manolo Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Apolo Barea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Esteban Balendin's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. After 20 minutes, Lorenzo Ilixo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ideazabal and the Caimancito players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ideazabal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Caimancito. Enzo Gonchan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cirilo Chaime. 0-2. Esteban Balendin struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Apolo Barea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ideazabal. Esteban Balendin might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Apolo Barea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Esteban Balendin ran back to his position shaking his head. Alvaro Petri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Barea having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Esteban Balendin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Apolo Barea was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Freddy Gorosti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Silverio Orain hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute Feliberto Lonzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Barea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esteban Balendin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Barea having to interfere. Ideazabal's Hernan Oliverio was substituted for Esteban Balendin. After 61 played minutes Ideazabal got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Petri. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Miguel Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ideazabal's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Apolo Barea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th match minute, Ideazabal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Ilixo to maneuver through the defense. Apolo Barea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manolo Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After having played for 73 minutes, Bonifacio Arixo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caimancito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bonifacio Arixo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ideazabal's Cirilo Chaime played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bonifacio Arixo in the 79th minute of play. Hernan Oliverio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ideazabal's Arnoldo Gombal was substituted for Feliberto Lonzo. Ideazabal's Romulo Florin was substituted for Alvaro Petri. Arnoldo Gombal took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Apolo Barea. Apolo Barea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. In the 86th minute, Romulo Florin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hernan Oliverio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Barea having to interfere. Bonifacio Arixo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cirilo Chaime having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ideazabal lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
