In the 15thth minute of the game Alfredo Remir who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Western Province's Hipolito Hulberto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Western Province! If Alfredo Remir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 40th minute Eustacio Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clodoveo Flor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eustacio Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clodoveo Flor having to interfere.
