After a defensive mix-up in FERNET ATHLETIC's zone, Froilan Duarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victorio Llorienzo came out of the goal and Froilan Duarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victorio Llorienzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Froilan Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Flor in the 17th minute of play forced FERNET ATHLETIC's goalkeeper Victorio Llorienzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 18 minutes, Froilan Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Velez Capo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Froilan Duarte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Victorio Llorienzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Froilan Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victorio Llorienzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Froilan Duarte in the 23rd minute of play. Teo Vachon kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. When Rodolfo Flor came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Velez Capo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolfo Flor couldn't finish the play. Jonas Sansone hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. If Rodolfo Flor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gavino Arano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teo Vachon during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Teo Vachon hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Victorio Llorienzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Froilan Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Rodolfo Flor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hector Erruki was the one to do the kick off. Silvio Sanchez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Victorio Llorienzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Froilan Duarte came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Velez Capo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Froilan Duarte couldn't finish the play. Froilan Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorio Llorienzo having to interfere. A collision led to FERNET ATHLETIC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Hector Erruki hit a great ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in FERNET ATHLETIC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! Jonas Sansone struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Victorio Llorienzo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Velez Capo. FERNET ATHLETIC's Victorio Llorienzo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save FERNET ATHLETIC from getting a goal against them. If Froilan Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
