Wilfredo Rufio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Dei, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Lucas Fonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Wilfredo Rufio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Arnulfo Tohias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th match minute, Lavalle AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cayetano Blasi to maneuver through the defense. Rodrigo Mannie was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 30 minutes into the match. The referee gave Arauca FC a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alejo Oskarbi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lavalle AFC's Luis Hanni. 1-0. Lavalle AFC's Cayetano Blasi got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Arauca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Fonso came free, but Wilfredo Rufio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Cayetano Blasi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lavalle AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arauca FC the free kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lucas Fonso to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Lucas Fonso could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Wilfredo Rufio however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Cayetano Blasi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavalle AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cayetano Blasi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilfredo Rufio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Lucas Fonso came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Lavalle AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Fonso couldn't finish the play. Wilfredo Rufio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayetano Blasi in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lavalle AFC's Ciro Guillerme got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute of the match Alejo Oskarbi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luis Hanni showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 74th minute, Ciro Guillerme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lucas Fonso succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 75th playminute. Lucas Fonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Rufio having to interfere. Lucas Fonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
