Leonides Vincente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafino Gorosti, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Saavedra's zone, Mateo Illart stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonides Vincente came out of the goal and Mateo Illart tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Serafino Gorosti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Serafino Gorosti came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the FC Spartan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serafino Gorosti couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eliseo Bernebe to strike the kick off in the second half. Saavedra's Leonides Vincente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateo Illart in the 69th minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Patricio Etxahun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saavedra's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Spartan the free kick. In the 73rd minute Serafino Gorosti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Vincente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Etxahun kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Eliseo Bernebe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clodoveo Fidele having to interfere. Eliseo Bernebe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Clodoveo Fidele tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serafino Gorosti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonides Vincente having to interfere.
