After having played for 10 minutes, Constantino Cordarin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lima's supporters crossed their fingers, but Constantino Cordarin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Lima's Eduardo Noe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antonio Kiliz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Saturnino Fidencio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santos Otsoko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Severiano Erruki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Lima's Severiano Erruki got control of the ball when Santos Otsoko tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Saturnino Fidencio came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Embalse AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saturnino Fidencio couldn't finish the play. 31 minutes into the match, Lima's goalkeeper Severiano Erruki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santos Otsoko. Zeledon Veronica kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Generoso Tebaldo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Severiano Erruki. Lima's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Severiano Erruki made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Santos Otsoko sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Lima's zone, Valentin Eguerdi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severiano Erruki came out of the goal and Valentin Eguerdi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saturnino Fidencio to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Lima's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Fidencio came free, but Severiano Erruki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Embalse AFC's Antonio Kiliz got control of the ball when Constantino Cordarin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Santos Otsoko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benjamin Abeijon during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lima's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Saturnino Fidencio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Antonio Kiliz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Rico in the 77th minute of play. Severiano Erruki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnino Fidencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Lima getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Haroldo Urtsin hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Otsoko in the 89th minute of play forced Lima's goalkeeper Severiano Erruki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Zeledon Veronica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Embalse AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
