The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 39th minute, Orlando Xabel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The La Pirincha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Domingo Artals short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Anibal Felipo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Domingo Artal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Xabel in the 51st minute of play forced Cuevas FC's goalkeeper Benicio Edorta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Melquiades Gaizkine cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. The La Pirincha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Melquiades Gaizkine succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 87th playminute. Anibal Felipo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Artal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 93 minutes of play, Cuevas FC's Pablo Montxo made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anibal Felipo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 96 played minutes Niceto Bittor rounded Cuevas FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-6. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched La Pirincha eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
