After 65 minutes, Epifanio Cambranes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Academia and the Guayacan AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th minute, La Academia's Tiburcio Cordarrel ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Baldomiro Tiniebra. Baldomiro Tiniebra yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. The supporters of Guayacan AFC booed when La Academia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Bernard didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Guayacan AFC's Godofredo Lope in 80 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Freddy Fernanco guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 92nd minute Godofredo Lope shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddy Fernanco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Cosme Kiliz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Baldomiro Tiniebra. That made the score 3-5 in the 94 minute of play. If Luigi Bosca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddy Fernanco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godofredo Lope, who was totally free with the ball in the 101st minute. Although Guayacan AFC had been in control for most of the match, La Academia still came away with the win.
