The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Miñones's Hugo Theodore nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabio Acuña made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Nicolas Bittor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Ovando having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Nicolas Bittor took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Erasmo Ovando to make any attempt to save it. Fabio Acuña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Theodore in the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Nicolas Bittor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicolas Bittor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Erasmo Ovando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaime Frechoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicolas Bittor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Ovando having to interfere. The supporters of Ferro Carapachay Oeste booed when Miñones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Osasun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Frechoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Ovando having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Jaime Frechoso made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Miñones's Victor Ospetsu got a free kick in the 56th minute. Ferro Carapachay Oeste's Gaudencio Millano couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 57th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Miñones. If Jaime Frechoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Acuña took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Segundo Restu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Segundo Restu came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Miñones fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Segundo Restu couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute Segundo Restu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Acuña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugo Theodore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabio Acuña having to make a save. In the 77th minute, Segundo Restu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fabio Acuña, passed just outside the right post. 77 minutes into the match, Miñones's Hugo Theodore sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabio Acuña narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Miñones's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas Bittor came free, but Erasmo Ovando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo Theodore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabio Acuña having to make a save. When Segundo Restu came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Miñones fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Segundo Restu couldn't finish the play. When Hugo Theodore fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miñones's protests and gave Hugo Theodore a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Miñones getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Hugo Theodore hit a great ball. If Nicolas Bittor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Frechoso in the 96th minute of play forced Miñones's goalkeeper Erasmo Ovando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Miñones defense, Jaime Frechoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erasmo Ovando. The Miñones fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erasmo Ovando should have stopped the shot. Ferro Carapachay Oeste's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
