Virgilio Bihar was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Anier Chorache. Eusebio Telesforo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Virgilio Bihar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in C.S.D. y C. El Progreso's zone, Virgilio Katia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgilio Bihar came out of the goal and Virgilio Katia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evaristo Panfilo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rigoberto Tanio, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Rigoberto Tanio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelino Maidana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Panfilo having to interfere. Matias Patxi struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Virgilio Bihar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gral. Manchester. 34 minutes into the match, Gral. Manchester's goal looked a bit too open when Rigoberto Tanio came free, but Evaristo Panfilo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angelino Maidana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evaristo Panfilo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, C.S.D. y C. El Progreso's Rigoberto Tanio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Evaristo Panfilo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Enrique Ieltxu hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. When C.S.D. y C. In the 61st minute of the match Timoteo Ederono sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evaristo Panfilo skillfully saved the ball. Angelino Maidana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Panfilo having to interfere. After 65 played minutes Gral. When Matias Patxi came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Gral. Manchester fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matias Patxi couldn't finish the play. If Eusebio Telesforo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 75th minute Angelino Maidana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Panfilo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of C.S.D. y C. El Progreso booed when Gral. Manchester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Gorka didn't get a good kick on the ball. El Progreso fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Virgilio Bihar should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelino Maidana in the 95th minute of play forced Gral. Manchester's goalkeeper Evaristo Panfilo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
