Instituto Plate's Pablo Argi got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th match minute, C.A. OnceLeones L.P. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonello Cardillo to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, C.A. OnceLeones L.P.'s goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Argi came free, but Lucas Fraco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Donato Tavio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 38th minute, Instituto Plate's Marcelino Pabla seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Marcelino Pabla the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Instituto Plate protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Marcelino Pabla had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Cristobal Gaufred had in the 41stth minute some difficulties stopping Polat Hanbeyi's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 42nd match minute, C.A. OnceLeones L.P. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonello Cardillo to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
