The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Gogo Frantzes got free with Leonel Benino in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santo Rosalio came out of the goal and Arturo Etxahun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the ◀ Red Rooster ▶ players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
