After 10 minutes of play, ACADEMICOS FC's Silvio Checa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ramiro Rencio was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute of the match Apolo Inocente sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ramiro Rencio skillfully saved the ball. Ramiro Rencio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Siro Fertus in the 16th minute of the match. Ramiro Rencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Siro Fertus, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Amado Gotzon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentino Abecia having to interfere. Eusebio Martxel kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Obrero Dique de Barda's Tobias Delfino got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in ACADEMICOS FC's zone, Tobias Delfino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florentino Abecia came out of the goal and Tobias Delfino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Siro Fertus came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the ACADEMICOS FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Siro Fertus couldn't finish the play. In the 31st minute, Tobias Delfino fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. Silvio Checa struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Ramiro Rencio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ACADEMICOS FC. In the 38th minute Amado Gotzon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Abecia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Obrero Dique de Barda getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Blas Refugio hit a great ball. ACADEMICOS FC's Silvio Checa managed to work through Obrero Dique de Barda's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Silvio Checa dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 1-1 became the score in the 43rd minute when Tobias Delfino elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Gotzon in the 51st minute of play forced ACADEMICOS FC's goalkeeper Florentino Abecia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ACADEMICOS FC's Florentino Abecia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amado Gotzon in the 53rd minute of play. Ramiro Rencio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Siro Fertus in the 58th minute. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Siro Fertus sped through Obrero Dique de Barda's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ramiro Rencio. 67 minutes into the match, Obrero Dique de Barda's goalkeeper Ramiro Rencio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Siro Fertus. After a rather tough play, Obrero Dique de Barda's Alonzo Macias got a free kick in the 67th minute. When Alberto Elixio fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ACADEMICOS FC's protests and gave Alberto Elixio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th minute, Alberto Elixio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Siro Fertus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ramiro Rencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Obrero Dique de Barda's zone, Silvio Checa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florentino Abecia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 92 minutes into the game, Teodoro Mirande was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ACADEMICOS FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Obrero Dique de Barda the free kick. After 92 played minutes ACADEMICOS FC got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Mirande. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ACADEMICOS FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
