The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Scofield's Everardo Eleazar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Guifre in the 5th minute of play. After having played for 8 minutes, Fabricio Bernabel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scofield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabricio Bernabel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Everardo Eleazar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dante Salbatore went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Scofield's Zeledon Artizar got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Fabricio Bernabel came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Scofield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabricio Bernabel couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute, Anacleto Tebaldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Mariano Calvet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scofield's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Calvet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timoteo Guzman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 38 minutes into the match, Fabricio Bernabel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Timoteo Guzman. Luanco AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabricio Bernabel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Zeledon Artizar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Timoteo Guzman made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Scofield's Fabricio Bernabel got a free kick in the 45th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anacleto Tebaldo in the 46th minute of play forced Scofield's goalkeeper Everardo Eleazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Teo Savion made the kick off in the second half. Julio Guifre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Everardo Eleazar having to interfere. Scofield's Virgilio Beremundo got his second yellow card of the match in the 53rd minute. The referee ordered Virgilio Beremundo off the ground. In the 55th minute, Virgilio Beremundo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zeledon Artizar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Teo Savion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timoteo Guzman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Luanco AFC's goalkeeper Timoteo Guzman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Timoteo Guzman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teo Savion's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Dante Salbatore came free with the goalkeeper in the 74th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Everardo Eleazar could save by the left post. If Teo Savion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Everardo Eleazar made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Julio Guifre sent off a good shot on target. Bartolo Fanuco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Everardo Eleazar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luanco AFC's Julio Guifre got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Scofield defense, Julio Guifre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Everardo Eleazar. The Scofield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Everardo Eleazar should have stopped the shot.
